Tanmantra is a deeply introspective performance that explores the subtle interconnectedness of the human body, senses, and inner energy. Derived from Tan (subtle), Mann (heart), and Antra (core/navel), the work delves into the idea of the body as a universe in itself—where perception, sensation, and consciousness intertwine.
Rooted in yogic philosophy and inspired by Indian mythology, the piece draws particular focus on the Manipura (navel chakra)—a vital center of energy associated with transformation, vitality, and inner power. The navel, often seen as a symbol of creation and rebirth, becomes the axis around which the movement vocabulary evolves reality.

At its core, Tanmantra is an invitation—to pause, to feel, and to reconnect. In a world driven by speed and material pursuits, it gently urges the audience to return to their inner senses, to rediscover the quiet intelligence of the body, and to experience existence beyond the visible.

Through an immersive sensory landscape, Tanmantra investigates touch, sound, and vision as primary modes of experiencing the world. Touch—ranging from nurturing and intimate to invasive and violent—is examined as a powerful carrier of memory and emotion. The natural and internal sounds of the body create a dialogue between the physical self and the environment, while vision is explored as a subjective lens that shapesDrawing from practices such as meditation, yoga, and energy awareness, the work reflects on the balance and alignment of the body’s energy centers as pathways to deeper self-understanding and harmony.
